January 18th, 2009 Well...I guess it's pretty apparent that I fell behind on my updates but let me be the first to wish you Happy New Years for 2009. Hahaa. I know I'm a lil late but all the best for realz and thanks for partying with us throughout 2008. I slept on blogging for a few months so there's lots to report. I don't want to make this toooo long so I'll sum up 2008 by saying that it was pretty prime. We toured all over Canada including multiple dates at Canada's biggest club, Toronto's The Guverment, rated 1 of the top 5 clubs in North America. We got nominated for Awards and took one home thanks to all your support. AND, we got a chance to tour Europe at the end of the Year which was amazing. At the end of this post make sure to peep the vid shot by my man Fatal of MP Fam of me DJing at De Cinema in Belgium.

Right now there are two things I'm kinda excited about. For the past month we have been making a FACTION SOUND CREW BLOG and now that there are some good posts on there we wanted to tell you about it! I guess that's where some of my time has been spent instead of on here but Big Ups to DJ Akshun for all his work on the new Blog and basically doing everything on there. Peep it at:

FACTIONSOUNDCREW.BLOGSPOT.COM There you'll find videos, mixtape downloads, info about our new nights, links to our remixes and our Brand New Photos plus a kind of funny throwback shot from when the Faction Sound Crew first formed. Our in depth bio is there as well if you've ever wondered wus up with us. It will be updated every 2 or 3 days so check back frequently.

The other big news is the Red Bull 3 Style competition coming up on Friday January 30th at the Commodore Ball Room.. I'll be battling against 7 other dope DJs to see who is the best party rocker in Vancouver. We each play a 15 minute set that must have at least 3 styles of music included in it. It's gonna be INSANE and i'm really hoping you can come as I will need your support. Best of all i can get everyone in for free so get at me with how many you need on the list: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it Hope you can make it!

Lastly, I wanted to tell you about our new nights. Both are at Tonic. One you may have heard of before but Sundays have changed a little and you can now expect a wider range of music plus all the dancehall we used to play with DJs Rexx, J Fresh and Arems at Profile Sundays. Major Thursdays at Tonic just jumped off and features DJs Tanner and myself playing all types of illness from Hip Hop Classics to Electro and everything Urban in between. Come thru and we'll grab you some drinks. That's it for now. Peep the video below and make sure to come out to the Red Bull 3 Style Competition on January 30th at the Comodore. Turn off the music on this site at the top of the page in the little thin grey strip...see the controls? Sorry they're so small. You'll need to hit the stop button so you can hear the video.

AREMS IN BELGIUM

October 19, 2008 I know...it's been almost a month since I hit you off with anything but it's for good reason. Things have been maaad hectic but they're finally back to a nice normal pace. Since my last update the Faction has completed the Worldwide Miz Cd and right now I'm coming to you from Stuttgart Germany. Stuttgart is home to some of the most beautiful German scenery around plus tonnes of midevil churchs and castles AND it's where all Mercedes and Porches are built. It's also home to a dope hip hop scene and last Night at Club Cappo was insane! The place was packed and reminded me of Playas Club Saturdays at Richards. The long and heavy crunk set went OFF the most and people were wildin out. Shout outs to DJ Spectra and the homies Dirty Black and Denny for all their hospitality. Next up, it's off to Paris for a couple of nights and then Belgium where I'll be linking up with DJ Psar and the MP Family for 4 differnt nights in Brussels and Antwerp. Stay tuned for lots of Pics to come and hopefully lots of updates. You never know when you're gonna get a good internet connection when you're out on tour. For now, I'll leave you with a lil more info about the fantastic Country of Germany and my travels so far.

Germany is right in the heart of Europe and shares borders with France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Amsterdam among others. I got here four days ago and linked up with my old friend Manuel whom I met on a foriegn exchange when i was 15. He's the man and his crib is the bomb. He lives a short walk from downtown Stuttgart in a really cool neighbourhood. On Friday, my girl Kari, Manuel and I jumped in his Honda Civic and hit the world famous Autobahn to check out some of the surrounding countries. Two hours later we were in Austria where we stopped along the Boden Sea to relax for a bit. The Autoban is takes you through the beautiful rolling hills of Germany but is not all that relaxing due to the fact that there's no speed limit. If you're in a brand new Mercedes, Porshe, Audi or BMW (which most people seemed to be) then you're probably enjoying yourself a little more than if you're in a normal car like we were...you constantly have to get out of the way of wanna be race car drivers who are usually cruising at speeds over 200km per hour.

So the break in Austria was much need and a great chance to stretch our legs. Half an hour later we were in Switzerland with the Swiss Alps surounding us on all sides. We decided to check out the little know country of Liechtenstien which you can drive through in about half an hour and has a total population of 35000. It was amazing but if you didn't have a GPS system like we did, you wouldn't know that you weren't in Switzerland any more. Where as most of Europe uses the Euro, Switzerland remains neutral and independant so they still use the Swiss Franc. The money is super colourful and has funny faces on it...i took pics...check em out soon. Things are crazy expensive in Switzerland but we couldn't resist buying lots of Swiss Chocolate and having dinner in one of the amazingly delicious restaurants scattered around Liechtenstien and Switzerland. Three hours later we were back in Stuttgart...tired and still super full. 4 countries in one day is pretty prime.

Lots more stories to come but for now, make sure you start preparing for the insanity that is the BRAND NEW MIZ CD from the Faction - WORLDWIDE! The CD is complete and out but only in Europe right now. We'll be having release parties all over Vancity and Whistler in November. Make sure to check out the first release party at Shine on November 7 for Get Up Get Down Fridays. BLAUGH! Hope to see you there!

September 21, 2008 So it's 7am and I'm still up...updating my site...haha. I'm thinking updates come in spurts. 3 Updates in the last week is better than 3 updates in the last two months I guess. Hopefully this becomes an addiction. I gotta say, I've been bumping the Foreign Exchange Sampler on repeat for their new album Leave It All Behind which comes out sometime in October. It's ILL! CLICK HERE to download the sampler. DOO THISS! A track or two from the album will definitely be on Soulove 2 (out in time for X-mas 2008). I promise...it's coming. On a different note, tonight at the Playas Club was real nice with 112 rolling through after thier concert at the Orpheum and chilling with the crowd...taking photos and what not. Prime. Just finished updating the NIGHTS section. To stay happy in life make sure to check out at least one of my nights per week!

September 19, 2008 Haven't added all the pics yet but like I said, some new ones are up. What I have managed to do is update the mixtape section and you can now download the entire Playas Club Mix CD there for free. Hope you enjoy it! More pics to come and full details about the Faction's European tour as well. Don't forget this weekend, catch me at Shine on Friday, Richards on Richards on Saturday and at Tonic this Sunday. Holla for glist. Hope to see you out there.

September 16, 2008 Finally added more pics to the picture section with far more to come this week. PEEP EM! On a another note, the Grand Opening of Free Up Wednesdays went off at Shine a few weeks ago and each of the five djs destroyed it! You can catch me there with DJ Abel coming up next Wednesday September 24th. It's gonna be PACKED! Holla for G-List.

September 2, 2008 Forgot to shout out the homie DJ Wristpect who rolled through Vancouver from Toronto last month and destroyed our night up in Whistler and tore down Thursday night at the Standard as well. Wristpect is the man. Don't forget the GRAND OPENING of Free Up Wednesdays at Shine is tomorrow with pure dancehall fiyah all night from 6 djs including me. DOO THISS! Also forgot to mention that the Faction will be on tour this October in Europe. More details will be availabe as more dates get confirmed. Ooooh!

August 31, 2008 I've been getting increasingly frustrated with my website lately as it's become painfully obvious that it looks like crap on most internet browsers other than Internet Explorer. I'm working on getting a new template together and a hosting program that doesn't mess everything up when you peep my site with Safari or Firefox. Because of my frustration, I haven't been updating very often so I'll have to hit you with a big update. August went off LARGE so here are the highlights. It started off in Toronto where I touched down in time to celebrate Caribana and DJ at a couple of spots including Rockwood on Friday night and at the Guverment Saturday night. Super prime times. Peep my facebook profile to see pics from all the festivities. I also got to DJ in Victoria at Element a few weeks later on Friday August 22nd and I gotta give it up to Degree One, Stallion, Speed Shoes and the people in Victoria that know how to party for real. It was a packed night and the place was jumpin. Back in Vancouver, 3 New nights started for the Faction. Sundays at Tonic are now in full effect for JUMP UP Sundays. Non Stop Dancehall, Roots Reggae and Soca with Arems, Rexx, J Fresh and Tanner... Back on that old Balthazar steez! The turnout has been dope and the long weekend sunday was crazy with a line up down the block and people being turned away all night. Thursdays at the Tunnel was supposed to be a brand new night on the Soul Love tip but after a successful grand opening and lousy second night the promoters threw in the towel and Back 2 Life Thursdays was done with the quickness. PEACE! One night left but a new night showed up in it's place...FREE UP wednesdays at Shine picks up where Bruck Out left off. More Dancehall Fiyah with DJs Rexx, Abel, Chizzle, Ceza Don, Jah B and Arems. We had a soft opening August 27th and it was an ill night. The Grand Opening goes down this Wednesday and its gonna be FIYAAAH! All six DJs will be spinning so make sure you roll through and see wus up. Hope to see you there. Over at Playas Club we celebrated our 12th Anniversary with a packed long weekend saturday and the release of brand new cd: Summer Heat. The CD will be available for download ASAP in the mixtape section.

NEW NIGHT Image

July 7, 2008 The NIGHTS section has now been updated and new photos are on the way. I didn't get around to uploading any new flix yesterday but they should be up by the end of today. Super Prime. Forgot to mention as well, look out for FIYAH FI BUN DEM 3.5 - The Heat Wave to be released this month!

July 6, 2008 So it's apparent that I don't update my blog often enough and that the NIGHTS section of this site is completely out of date as well. Plus, I haven't added pics in a long time but I'm bout to add some right now so peep the photo section out when you're done reading. Hopefully everything else will be updated this month...hopefully, haha. I've also had comments that if you're veiwing this site with any other internet browser but Internet Explorer it looks all messed up. FireFox and Safari are screwing up the tables and what not so I'm working on getting that all sorted out. What a sh*t show! Anyways, hope you had a dope Canada Day long weekend and that you're enjoying the summer weather...FINALLY! A couple of things to remember for this week: You can catch me at the Standard for Get Fresh Thursdays doing a special guest set July 10th. The night is packed with good looking well dressed people so get yourself together and make it out there if you can. This week at the Jump Off in the Stone Temple we have some very special guests coming through. July 12th DJ Kemo of the Rascalz and Big Syphe of Power 105 in LA will be rolling through to show you how the west coast smacks kids! All these special guests means I won't be playin this week but you can find me at the Playas Club as usual. We just finished recording a new mixtape for the Playas Club featuring all new Crunk, Dancehall, and RnB from myself and DJs Physik and Smooth. Lookout for its release in the next few weeks. Patrons of the Playas Club will get this limited edition CD for FREE! Everyone else...you'll be able to download it off this site soon enough.

June 27, 2008 June was totally INSANE! We started off the month in Ontario where we djed at Helsinki in Ottawa with Kid SL and then the Guverment in Toronto with 4 Korners. Both nights were bananas and we had a blast. They Stylus Awards took up the rest of the time we had over there and thanks to you guys and everyone else that voted I came home with goods for Vancouver Stylus DJ of the Year...thanks again for all your support. We also released Part 2 of the Facts and Figures CD series with 4 Korners. This one's called All Over Your Face and is on that Electro Hip Hop tip once again. The download link is in the MIXTAPE section of my site. The Canada Day long weekend will see Tanner up in Vernon for the grand opening of Moe Joes Night Club and you can catch the Faction at Shine Monday night for Sound Champion - a strictly dancehall reggae night. New nights are in the works for next Month and we can tell you forsure that we'll be doing Thursdays at the new club the Tunnel starting July 31st. More info on that soon. July 10th you can catch Arems at the Standard in New West for Get Fresh Thursdays so make sure to come out! Don't forget as well, I now DJ at two different nights on Saturdays: You can catch me at Richards on Richards as usual for the Playas Club with Physik and Smooth where I play a bomberass bloodclawt dancehall set every week but you can now find me at the Stone Temple as well for an early set. The new night is called the Jump Off and features myself the TMS crew and DJ Seko plus tons of special guests. I'm there till 11:30pm on Saturdays playing golden era hip hop and club jams. Holla at me for the g - list hook up anytime! Below are a few pics from the Stylus Awards...all the pics from our trip will be in the photo section very soon.

May 30, 2008 The big news for this month has been the Stylus DJ Awards. Tanner and myself are nominated for three Awards and thanks to you and everyone who voted on the Beat.com for the Vancouver Fan Choice Award...I WON!!! Thank you so much for all your support. I know I probably badgered you to vote a little too much but it paid off in the end and here we are in Toronto on a tiny award tour. Tonight the Faction heads to Ottawa to burn down Helsinki Night Club and then Saturday night we are back in Toronto to play the Guverment. Sunday is the Stylus Awards BBQ and trivia challenge which we're hoping for a repeat win in. Monday is the Awards show and afterparty. We'll find out Monday if we take home the Best Mixtape Award for Facts and Figures. I'm also nomintated for Canadian Reggae DJ of the Year but there's really no need to anticipate winning that one being the only dj in that category who's not originally from Jamaica and not resideing in Toronto or Montreal. Our Dancehall Reggae scene is sadly too small in Vancouver but we're working on that. Big ups to all the DJs that play current dancehall music in the clubs!!! Episode 4 of our Faction Sound Crew Radio has been out for a while now but I didn't really tell you about it so you probably don't have it yet. Go to www.factionsoundcrew.podomatic.com to listen to or download the new episode. Hope you enjoy it. Leave a comment on the podcast site if you do! We'll be hitting you with more episodes and more news soon. Facts and Figures Part 2 should be out in less than a week...early June!

April 23rd, 2008 Two big things to let you know about in this update. First off, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me online for the 2008 Stylus DJ awards. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was nominated in three categories this year and was amazed at all your support. DJ Tanner and I will be heading to the awards in Toronto this May to represent Vancity to the fullest. We are nominated for mixtape of the year for our collabo with 4 Korners on the "FACTS and FIGURES" mix cd which you can download for free in the MIXTAPE section of my site. I was also nominated for Reggae DJ of the Year and Vancouver Club DJ of the Year. The first two nominations I mentioned are decided by a panel of industry judges. The Vancouver City DJ award will be decided by the public and voting will begin soon. I'll get into that more in the next update but for now, make sure to check out STYLUSDJAWARDS.COM to check out the other nominees and peep all the info. You can see all the Vancouver nominees at Plush Night Club on Saturday May 10th at Big Up when they announce the winner of the award. Peep the flyer below. Hope to see you there! The other news is that Faction Sound Crew B Side Sessions at Plan B will no longer be going on. It was fun while it lasted but playing to a sitdown lounge was hard to do for a couple of party rockers. We'll have something new cracking on a Thrusday soon! Stay tuned for more news on that tip as well as wus up with voting for the stylus awards this year.

March 30th, 2008 Well, I guess it's clear I'm not a frequent blogger...haha. March brought around a few changes and a much needed vacation. Hawaii, LA, and Las Vegas were all dope and I had a fantastic time. Shout outs to DJ Zeem in Vegas for being so hospitable and all the link ups. Will post some pics soon...I hope! One place I always make sure to stop by at is the Gun Store in Las Vegas. You can shoot just about any gun in the world you'd like to. This time I shot an AK-47. Peep the video. Make sure to turn the music from my website off so you can hear the audio. The audio controls for my site are right near the top of the page in a thin gray strip.

DJ AREMS in TONZ OF GUNZ

The main news is for this month is that I am no longer at Cheers Night Club on Fridays for Frenzy Fridays. The promoters, Big Show Entertainment, ended their relationship with the club after two years and decided to chill. Chillen is something you do on a monday night so I got with the fellas at Shine on Friday nights for Get Up Get Down and you can find me there in regular rotation from now on. A couple of big things are in the works for Spring and early summer. The Faction along with a close crew of ours should have a new Reggae night for you to enjoy by the end of Spring. Look for a new dancehall CD to be released in anticipation of the night in the next month or two. And yes, Soulove 2 is still in the works...it's coming...I promise. Don't forget, you find me: Tuesdays in Whistler at the Savage Beagle, Wednesdays at the Plaza for YO! Old Skool, Thursdays at PLan B for B Side Sessions, Fridays at Shine for Get Up Get Down and Saturdays at Richards on Richards for the Players Club. See you out there family!

February 28th, 2008 Been slippin on the updates...I know. Things have been real busy with 5 nights a week going down and the brand new Fiyah Fi Bun Dem Part 3 Mix CD being out now. It was released on February 16th and the release party went down at Richards on Richards for the Playas Club. It was PACKED and if you didn't get your free copy of the cd then you'll just have to buy that shit! It's available at Dipt and East Side Urban Wear plus I still have some as well so hit me up at the clubs. Our brand new thursday night at Plan B (Faction B Side Sessions) is going well so make sure you roll through sometime. It's free cover and nothing but soulful tunes to chill out to. Yo! Old Skool Wednesdays at the Plaza is getting busier by the week so make sure to peep it out as well. March is starting off on the holiday tip for me as I'll be heading to Hawaii for a week. Ooooh! After that it's off to LA and Las Vegas where you can catch me at the V-Bar in the Venetian on March 13th. Shout outs to my homie DJ Zeem for the link up! Mixtape section is updated...go download some free CDs!

January 29th, 2008 First off, Happy New Year and all the best for 2008! Sorry I didn't get to wish you that earlier...things have been hectic this month. Two new nights are jumping off! YO! Old Skool Wednesdays at the Plaza has been slowly building and this week we have the Hunt.FM launch party to celebrate our homie DJ Hunt's new podcast site. Check it out at www.hunt.fm DJ Tanner and I did a guest set on his show this week so definetly check it out to peep the interview and mix which you can just listen to or download and save. Tanner dropped a bunch of new hip hop and electro in his set while I got into some new hip hop as well plus a gang load of dancehall and and touch of new RnB. On top of all that we finally got around to doing another podcast for you. You can listen to it or download it at: www.factionsoundcrew.podomatic.com . This one was recorded last Wednesday (Jan 23rd, 08) at the Plaza Club for our brand new night YO! Old Skool Wednesdays. The podcast was my opening set and is all old skool RnB spanning the 80's and 90's. Stay tuned for an Old Skool Hip Hop podcast from DJ Tanner to come out next. If you like what you hear make sure to come down to the Plaza Club to catch the Faction Sound Crew in full effect with all the illest Old Skool Hip Hop and RnB plus other goodies as well as 3 dollar highballs and 4 dollar Heinekens! Get at me for guest list...DOO THISSS. Remember to right click on "Download" and choose "save as" if you wish to keep a copy of this podcast on your computer or for you MP3 player. If you're having problems with the download then try downloading it here. Our second brand new night starts this Thursday Jan. 31st at Plan B Lounge in Yale Town. Peep Tanner and I playing nothing but soulful shit. This one's called Faction Sound Crew presents The B Side Sessions and it"s free to get in plus Absolute Vodka and Heinekens are on special. It'll be the same vibe as the Soulove mixtape if you copped it. Hope to see you out there.

December 30, 2007 The year is a few hours from being over and DJ wise it's definetely been one of the best ever for the Faction Sound Crew and myself. Here's a quick summary. In March we released the Year of the Faction mix CD in anticipation of our tour to Asia. By the end of March we were touching down in Shanghai where Tanner, Trigger and I proceeded to destroy Volar and Guandii before moving on to smash Hong Kong's Volar and finally burn Taipei's Room 18 to the ground. Asia was amazing and I still think about it all the time. April brought news of my nomination for the 2007 Rogers Stylus DJ Awards for Mixtape DJ of the Year. In June I travelled to Toronto for the awards and met a gang load of Canada's illest DJ's sparking many new friendships. Although I didn't win the award, the experience was amazing and repping Vancity with Rexx in the Encore Sound Clash and killing all contenders at the Stylus DJ Jeopardy Event was so dope. July saw the release of the Fiyah Fi Bun Dem 2.5 Mix Cd for Adidas Originals and the arrival of many special guests at our Faction nights in Vancouver and Whistler. Much respect to 4 Korners, Kid SL, DJ Wristpect and Spincycle for rolling through and blessing our nights. After a tiny set back in October to our Eastern Canada tour we finished the Facts and Figures Mix CD with 4 Korners and touched down in Toronto for our Tour in late November. The Palace in Guelph, Helsinki in Ottawa and the Guverment and Rockwood in Toronto were all amazing. Such DOO THISS times. Of course we can't forget about the loss of our Sundays at Balthazar and the ending of Wednesday night Heat at Fever. Lookout for a new Faction Sunday to pop off in early 2008 and don't forget we've got a brand new Wednesday! Catch Tanner and myself at the Plaza for YO! Ol Skool Wednesdays every wednesday starting January 9th, 2008. 80's and 90's RnB and Hip Hop plus lot of other classics mixed in. We'll be bringing through an old school artist or two as well so stay tuned for news on that. Fiyah fi Bun Dem part 3 is almost done will be released in January. Lookout for the release party at the Players Club at Richards on Saturdays with DJ Physik, Smooth and myself. Last but not least, if you've been waiting, Soulove 2 will be released for Valentine's Day 2008. Ooooooooooooh!

December 15, 2007 Wow...looks like it's been almost a month and a half since i last updated my blog...what can i say...November was an insane month. Most projects got put on hold due to the passing of my Mom. Her battle with stomach cancer came to an end on November 19th. I miss her so much and will never forget everything she did for me. Words really can't explain my loss. Needless to say, i've been feeling pretty low lately and mourning her passing everyday. The Faction's Eastern Canada tour from Nov 29 to December 4th was a lot different than i thought it would be due to the events that came before we left. It went awesome and we ripped it in every city we visited but mentally, i wasn't fully there. Thankfully Tanner was Mr. DOO THISS as usual and managed to cover up my dreariness quite well. Linking up with our homies all over Ontario was dope as well and seeing all my close peoples come out to our nights in Toronto definetely brightened my spirits. Big shout outs to DJ Wristpect, Kid SL, and 4 Korners for all their love and hospitality. Special thanks to the Serbian King, Josh Scuby, for putting us up in Toronto and defining the meaning of PARTY. Super sweet times. Pictures of our entire tour will be posted in the photo section within a few days...look out for em. Can't forget to remind you that after 6 years of killing it at Balthazar for Sunday Night Sound System, the Faction is no longer in the building. Our last Sunday night took place on November 11th and was eventful to say the least. The new owners found cheaper djs...right onn. PEEEACE! Lots of new nights and what not are popping off this month so stay tuned for news about those in the next update.

November 3rd, 2007 Things are looking good for the usually dreary month of November. Join us up in Whistler at the Savage Beagle Tuesday November 6th for the Peanut Butter Wolf NBA 2k8 Zombie Basketball CD release party. We'll be giving away the game for X Box 360 as well as many copies of the album and other Stones Throw LPs. It's gonna be dope! The week after that will the release of our brand new callabo mix cd with 4 Korners from Toronto. The Facts and Figures CD is a mix of B-More and Electro featuring tons of Faction production and remixes on the first half and 4 Korners killing the second half. Be at the Savage Beagle Tuseday November 13th to get your free copy! See you there.

October 30th, 2007 Shit got hectic in October...but not in the greatest way. Family emergencies and other set backs kept a couple things from happening but the Facts and Figures mixtape is out now in Toronto and will be released properly in November for Vancity. The mixtape features the Faction and 4 Korners wit all the illest Bmore and Electro and tons of original faction productions. Peep the intro and the first few tracks at: http://www.factionsoundcrew.com Our Eastern Canada tour got pushed back to November as well and will begin on Nov 28th now. The reason, kinda funny...our main night we were looking forward to playing at the Guverment in Toronto was scheduled to be hosted by Paris Hilton. In the end, she decided she wanted her own dj's there and our homies 4 Korners didn't even get to play their own night. Paris Hilton is a whore! Fiyah Fi Bun Dem Part 3 will be released November 11th (my Birthday) at Balthazar. Shit will be crazy so mark it down. Faction T Shirts are now out so if you want one HOLLA! We only made a few and we sellin em at cost. Lots more Podcasts in November...like i said October was hectic.

September 28th, 2007 One of my favourite crews is releasing a new album and we're having the release party up in Whistler on the night it comes out. The Little Brother CD Release Party for their new album Get Back will be October 16th at the Savage Beagle in Whistler. Tons of give aways and of course all the illest sounds provided by the Faction. Get there early to hear the entire album. Peep the flyer in the photo section.

September 24th, 2007 September is definetly going down as one of the more quiet months of this year but only because of the preperations going on for October. Two mixtapes will be released next month: Fiyah Fi Bun Dem Part 3 and the Facts & Figures Mixtape. The latter is a cd we're currently working on for our upcoming Eastern Canada Tour in October. Facts & Figures consists of us (the Faction) and 4 Korners from Toronto. Our joint CD is a primarily B-More mix featuring many original productions and will be released October 20th in Toronto when we play at the Guverment. The tour will also find us in Guelph and Ottawa with a tentative date in Montreal. Shit is crazy! Look out for Fiyah Part 3 to come out for October 13th with the release party going down at the Polish Combatant Hall that night as well as on Sunday at Balthazar. Episode 3 of our podcasts should be posted soon.

August 14th, 2007 This week brings you a lot of dope DJ's in the city of Vancouver. 4 Korners have touched down from Toronto and will be spinning with us up in Whistler tonight for Celebration Tuesdays. You can also catch them at a couple other venues around Vancouver in the days to come. DJ Wristpect, also out of Toronto, will be arriving in Vancouver this Friday to DJ at the Plaza with Tanner on Friday night and then with Rexx at Honey on Saturday. Catch DJ Wristpect with the Faction in Whistler once again for Celebration Tuesdays on August 21st. Fiyah Fi Bun Dem 2.5 is now available for free download in the Mixtape section and new Summer pics will be up soon in the photo section. Hope to see everyone out at the cluuuubs this week!

August 10th, 2007 Pictures from July's Stylus DJ Awards in Toronto are finaly up in the photo section. Also, peep the cover of Fiyah Fi Bun Dem 2.5 in the mixtape section. Don't forget to check out our podcasts as well when you get a chance. The link to our podcast is below in the August 9th update.

August 9th, 2007 Sheeeeeeeeeeeeyit! Didn't even update last month! Crazy times I guess. Finaly got all moved in to the new criz but got lots of other things done too. Fiyah Fi Bun Dem 2.5 was released last month and put out by Adidas Originals. The CD was a gift to patrons of their seasonal product party (which I djed) and only a limited amount of copies were made available. For that reason, you'll be able to download the mixtape for free in the mixtape section by this weekend. Faction Podcasts are now available as well! So far we have done two episodes and we hope to hit you off with new ones every other week. June 25th, 2007 Holy Snap! It's been more than a month since my last update and that's wack! It's been a crazy month tho. Moving into a new spot that I've been renovating with my Pops has been killing all my free time. But lots of other things have been going on too. The Stylus DJ Awards in Toronto were DOPE! I didn't win the best mixtape dj of the year award that I was nominated for but I did make lots of connections and had a really good time. Plus, Spence Diamonds, Spincycle and myself took home the booty at the DJ Jeopardy game show so that was worth my while right there! Anyways, look for the photos to be up real soon. The seventh night I mentioned in the last update hasn't happened yet but is still in the works. Lookout for a new Thursday sometime in August. Other than that all the nights are going well and I hope to see you out there. Next update will be up in a couple of days.

MAY 22nd, 2007

More big tings a gwan! DJ Tanner and myself can now be found at Aubar every Monday for Mynt Mondays. The drinks are extra cheap and the music is extra dope. Industry peeps get in free as well as anyone who hollas at us. Come through. June 7th will bring on a new night at the lounge George located in Yaletown. We'll be testing the waters to see how it goes but if people are feeling it - it may become a regular night. Smooth R&B and Soul will be on rotation all night and DJ Tanner will most likely be if effect as well. If this night pops off you'll be able to find me at different club every night of the week in the lower main land. Stay tuned for more info.

MAY 20th, 2007

It's been a long time since i hit you with an update but this month has been crazy and there's lots of things to tell you about. First off, I'll be heading to Toronto for the Stylus Awards on June 2nd to the 4th to rep Vancity in the Mixtape Category and also to Soundclash other DJ's from different cities on that Saturday night at a club called Revival. DJ Rexx and myself will be teaming up against djs from Montreal and Halifax to clash for $1000. The winners are judged by the crowd so if you're in Toronto definetely come out and support. There are no Toronto DJ's clashing but Team Canada from Montreal will be providing the sounds before and after the battle. Two new nights are in the works as well for Vancity but I'll keep you posted on those. For those that don't know, Sunday nights at Balthazar are back to normal again - PACKED! We took a little hiatus due to legal woes with the city but it's now open till 2am again and the place is jumpin. Roll through to hear all the ill sounds and see al the beautiful people.

APRIL 28th, 2007

Thanks to all the people that voted for DJ Arems in the Stylus DJ Awards nominations. You got me nominated for Mixtape DJ of the Year and I really appreciate it. The awards go down in Toronto at the beginning of June. My competition is crazy but I might go just to network. Thanks again. To find out more about the awards peep: http://www.stylusdjawards.com

APRIL 8th, 2007

It took me a while but i finally got some pics up of our tour in the photo section. I had around 900 pics to go through so widdling them down wasn't easy. Asia was the bomb and i'm lookin forward to going back. Peep the flix and i'm sure you'll see why.

MARCH 31st, 2007

OH SNAP! Finally a chance to update my site with a lil news. The Year of the Faction Tour is pretty much now over as we just finished our last gig at Room 18 in Taipei. The whole trip has been amazing and each place we played seemed to be more packed and hype than the last one. Room 18 last night was rammed and I can say without doubt that Taipei club goers are the best people to rock a party with. For a quick summary; Shanghai was definetly the grimiest and largest city we visted but also the most cultured and interesting. DJAREMS.COM is banned in China so that kinda sucks...i guess goverment officials don't like big booty mixtape cover girls. Hong Kong was the cleanest and probably the most beautiful city on this tour but also the most expensive and least spacious. Taiwan is dope and althought i've been here for less than 16 hours, I already wish we could have stayed a lil longer. I'm definetely looking forward to coming back here some time in the future. Make sure to check for an extensive display of our trip in the photo section by next week. See you back in Vancity on Sunday.

MARCH 16th, 2007

The release party this past wednesday was dope! Thanks to all the people who came out and supported us and the CD. Pictures of the night are now available in the photo section. We leave for China in two days...i'm definetely getting excited.

MARCH 14th, 2007

The Year of the Faction Mix CD is complete and available now at your local mixtape spot. The release party is tonight at Fever nightclub in New West with Tanner and myself plus DJ's Ali Baba and Juice. Peep the mixtape section to see the covers and look for photos from the release party to be in the photo section tomorrow.

MARCH 8th, 2007

Things have been really hectic as of late but are coming together really well. DJ Tanner and I are just putting the finishing touches on our brand new mix cd "The Year of the Faction" which we are releasing in anticipation of our tour to Asia. The mix cd is banging and gives you the direct feel of what you might here in the club if you were at one of our nights. The CD release party is on Wednesday March 14th (next week) at Fever night club. Make sure to roll through for your free copy and all the illest sounds. It'll be one of your last chances to hear us for a while before we leave.

FEBRUARY 20th, 2007

By now, many of you know that our night at Balthazar on Sunday Nights has changed a little due to restrictions on the Lounge imposed by the city. Dj Tanner and myself are no longer allowed to DJ past midnight at Balthazar. For the past few weeks we've been shuttin 'er down at midnight but that's all about to change. On February 25th we will continue to throw down at Tonic on the corner of Granville and Smithe till 3am. You can still find us at Balthazar till 12am but the party will continue at Tonic on Granville till 3am with $3 dollar Heinekins and Coronas! Holla at us if you need guest list.

FEBRUARY 11th, 2007

My man A-List just volunteered his time and talent to do all the artwork for the Faction Sound Crew Asia Tour 2007. A-List has been killing it on the art scene with recent shows in New York, London, and Toronto as well as many magazine articles and web coverage. A-List designed the Faction logo and has created designs for Nike, Stussy, Staple, Goodfoot, and countless others. I can't wait to see what he's got in store for us. Peep out his site at http://www.enterthealist.com
.

FEBRUARY 5th, 2007

New pics have been posted in the Faction Pics photo section. Our booking agent in China asked for some bio shots so we got our homeboy Andre Pinces to snap a few shots. They turned out pretty well and I can't thank Andre enough. Check out his site at http://www.andrepinces.com

JANUARY 28th, 2007

Finally got a chance to peep GO DUMB saturdays at the Columbia last night. The music was ill and the crowd was dope. Big ups my man Neoteric for holding it down with the rest of the Party Killahs. Definetely roll through the Columbia on a Saturday night if you ain't checkin out the Faction Sound Crew at the Plaza or Sonar. Also, pictures of the private Clipse concert in Seattle are now up in the Photo section..

JANUARY 26th, 2007

It's been a while since I've updated my blog but from now on I will post more frequently. Big tings a gwaan in 2007 starting with the Faction Sound Crew Asia Tour. On March 18th the Faction will be travelling to Shanghai, China for 4 days and then move on to Hong Kong as well as Taipei, Taiwan. The 12 day tour will see us playing different venues in each city and should be ILL! Stay tuned for more info. Also, look for new updates in the photo section...Dj Tanner and myself were privelaged to check out a private show in Seattle last night where The Clipse tore down the tiny club in front of only 300 people. It was sick. Look for photos of the event to be posted by tomorrow.
